Your journal, without AI rereadings

Your own words are enough to return to your days.

Choose how to return to your entries

A walk, a busy day, a sentence you want to keep. Your journal holds what you choose to write. You can read it yourself without asking a model to interpret your words.

Rereadings offer another place to return to a completed period. During setup, choose how to receive them, with no option preselected. Change your mind in Settings → Rereadings.

Essential: counts, your words and a question

Essential brings together Body, Mind and Soul activity counts, check-ins and the last three non-empty notes from the period, in your own words. Notes are initially collapsed: open them when you want to read them. A question from the curated collection invites you to pause over what matters to you.

The summary is prepared and saved on the server without AI models or sending the period’s data to OpenAI. It describes the entries that exist; it does not judge how you spent days without entries.

You recorded two walks, a little reading and one check-in. An essential rereading brings together those counts and the available notes. A curated question might ask: “Which moment from these days would you like to carry with you?”

Illustrative example: the question you see may be different.

With AI: a generated reflection

In this mode, activities, mood, energy, state of mind and notes from the period are sent to OpenAI to generate a reflection and a question. We do not send your account identifier; the notes you write may still contain personal information.

The text may miss something or feel out of place in your experience. Keep what rings true, leave it aside or choose Essential for upcoming periods.

Off: the journal remains your space

If you prefer to read your entries yourself, turn new rereadings off. No new periods are prepared, and their badge is hidden. Saved rereadings remain available. Enable them again later in whichever mode you prefer.

A choice specifically for rereadings

Essential and Off apply to rereadings. They do not turn off every use of AI in the app. Activity suggestions and the monk’s check-in responses follow separate preferences and may use AI to select texts or activities. Your journal and saving entries do not depend on an AI rereading.

Saved once, ready to revisit

The first rereading becomes due after three full days from your first entry; the next follows seven days after the start. Periods of three and seven days then alternate. Empty periods are skipped.

In the journal, the book icon opens “Your rereadings”. Each item shows its period and counts, and a badge marks new ones. Changing modes, editing your diary or reopening an item does not rewrite saved rereadings.
