Ethical manifesto
A space to listen to yourself, at your own pace.
Body Mind Soul was created to help you reflect on your days and what feels right for you. These choices guide how we build the app.
A minimal identity
You sign in with a numeric identifier. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number. Your account has an identifier that links your entries without requiring your real-world identity.
Keep your code safe: it gives access to your space. Without an associated email address, we cannot send you an email to recover access.
Your journal holds part of your life
Activities, mood, energy, mental state and notes are stored in the backend, linked to your numeric account. We treat this content as personal information, with care and respect.
Authorised administrators can view users and journals in the management console. We want to be clear about this, alongside our choice not to ask for additional identifying details.
Respect for your attention
We are committed to keeping the journal free and accessible. No ads, advertising trackers or commercial profiling. We do not sell your journal content. Service statistics count accounts and entries already stored in the backend to understand usage, without following your browsing across other apps or websites.
Balance takes your shape
Body, Mind and Soul are perspectives for understanding yourself. Balance changes with you and does not require equal shares every day. We assign no points, rankings, rewards or penalties, and we do not label activities as negative.
A day without entries is not a failure. You can return whenever you like, with nothing to catch up on.
The monk accompanies you
The monk’s hints are reflections and small pieces of guidance, with accompanying animations. They can take into account the categories recorded in the period you are viewing, without scoring your wellbeing. We show one hint at a time.
Ideas are a small catalog of Body, Mind and Soul activities that you can choose and record in your journal.
When AI is enabled, activities, mood, energy, state of mind and notes from the reflection period are sent to OpenAI to generate personal feedback. We do not send your account identifier.
Room for your choices
You decide what to record, how much to share and which suggestions to follow. You can edit or delete entries at any time.
The app should help you live your days without asking you to spend more time here.
This manifesto describes the project’s principles and the choices in the current app. We will keep making them understandable as the project grows.
